La sesión mostró athletes who arrived in Bolivia looking for new figures in their careers.

Los resultados del tercer díaDSL combining the times obtained in series with the marks achieved in saltos and lanzamientos. Each delegation had representatives who had completed their first rounds, while others were preparing to face their first decisive appearances. The official results make it possible to follow the complete sporting sequence, from qualifying heats to final classifications.

Several athletes improved their best personal marks during the session. These advances were especially visible in races decided by a few tenths, as well as in field events where one valid attempt could alter the final standings. The figures also reflect improvements in starts, race distribution, technique and concentration under the particular conditions of Cochabamba.

The official event site brings together the schedules, regulations, athlete information, competition results and media galleries. This material provides a common reference for checking times, distances and classifications, and allows visitors to revisit the performances through photographs and videos from the third day.

Velocidad y clasificación directa

The hundred and two hundred metres concentrated the action on maximum speed. In the hundred metres, the series established the order for the final and served as an initial measurement of the athletes’ reaction and acceleration. In the two hundred metres, maintaining speed through the curve demanded a different physical and technical response, with the bend becoming decisive in the final metres.

Personal records appeared both in early rounds and in the decisive finals. Some athletes found their best time while advancing, while others reached the highest figure only when the pressure of the final required them to maintain their rhythm. Such a pattern demonstrates how competition conditions can influence performance: an athlete who runs a controlled series may still have enough speed to improve when the race is fully contested.

The official classification also allows a more precise reading of the event. Times from each series can be compared with the final result, and reaction data provide additional context for evaluating the starts. Wind readings must be considered in the corresponding races, since they form part of the conditions under which a mark was achieved.

Vallas, medio fondo y control del ritmo

The hurdle events produced a different form of personal improvement. Success depended on combining speed with an efficient trajectory over each barrier. A clean clearance allowed the athlete to preserve rhythm, whereas hesitation affected both the split and the final time. In races such as the four hundred metres with hurdles, the distribution of effort across the bends and the straight also became essential.

The middle-distance programme added another perspective. In the eight hundred and fifteen hundred metres, athletes had to balance a fast opening with enough strength to sustain their pace. The best lap or final phase often separated athletes who had entered the race with similar marks. The improvement in personal performance therefore went beyond simply finishing closer to the front: it also involved maintaining control when fatigue increased.

Several factors interacted during the races. The altitude of Cochabamba can influence breathing and the perception of effort, while the weather and the condition of the track affect both times and jumping marks. Although the official results do not simplify the performances into a single cause, they provide the numerical evidence needed to understand each advancement.

Saltos y lanzamientos: la importance de la marca válida

In the horizontal jumps and throwing events, a personal record depended on combining technique with the precise application of the regulations. The takeoff line, the landing area and the sequence of attempts established whether a performance could enter the official classification. In the jumps, athletes had to preserve balance without losing the speed generated during the approach. The throwers, meanwhile, worked with the circle, the implement and the release point.

The competition system gave athletes several opportunities to improve. A first attempt could establish a reference, while a later attempt with a more controlled movement produced a better figure. This was particularly important in the long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus, javelin and hammer, where the final result emerged from the best valid performance rather than from the final attempt alone.

These marks also offer an individual benchmark for the remainder of the Games. A distance achieved in Cochabamba becomes a reference that the athlete can compare with future competitions. It also reveals different areas of progress: some athletes improved their speed of approach, others adjusted their release, and several obtained greater consistency across a complete series of attempts.

Un récord dentro de reglas precisas

Every personal record has value when it is registered within the rules governing the competition. Electronic timing, reaction controls, lane assignments, wind measurements, the number of attempts and the validity of each execution form part of that framework. An improvement is not simply a number entered on a scoreboard; it is a result that has passed through the corresponding verification process.

The close finishes in the track events required particular attention. Where the difference between athletes was minimal, the official time was decisive. In field events, judges evaluated the position of the take-off mark, the landing or the implement. This detailed control ensures that the published results can be checked by delegations, coaches, athletes and visitors using the same regulations applied during the event.

Environmental and technical factors are also relevant when comparing marks. Altitude, wind, temperature, equipment and the order of competition can influence a performance. For that reason, a personal best achieved in Cochabamba should be interpreted together with the conditions registered in the results. It remains a legitimate achievement, but its comparison with another mark requires attention to the circumstances in which both were obtained.

The distinction between a personal record and an event record is equally important. The first belongs to the athlete’s own history. The second must be verified under the specific rules for the competition and may require additional conditions. Keeping these concepts separate allows the sporting value of each performance to be understood without exaggerating its sporting significance.

La jornada disponible en el archivo oficial

The third day can be reviewed through the official information and media archive. The published material includes the competition programme, the lists of results and the records obtained by the athletes. Photographs and videos complement these documents by showing the context of each performance: the start of a race, a decisive clearance, the concentration before an attempt or the celebration after crossing the finish line.

For the delegations, these results offer a starting point for analysing the remaining programme. Coaches can compare series and finals, identify the margins between competitors and prepare their athletes for the next appearances. For visitors, the archive makes it possible to follow the evolution of the competition without losing access to earlier sessions or having to search across multiple pages.
